Bring a Cooler
A cooler is important and you’ll want one that will hold food, drinks, as well as the ice that you’ll want too. Make sure that the cooler you get has a drain on it. It will allow you to let the melted ice out so the food is not turned to mush. Some coolers are made that you can plug in to outlets. You can also plug some of them into your vehicle as well. Not only can these electric coolers help cool food, but foods can be kept warm too.
The Right Attire
Make sure that you have good clothing with you and some sleeping bags as well. Go with clothes that are comfortable and make sure you have shoes that are good for hiking. Clothing that you can layer is a great choice, especially if you plan on going out when it is colder. Having a nice pillow is a great idea. Make sure it is protected or you’ll end up lying down with your head on a pillow that is damp. Definitely not your first choice.
Cooking Goods
There are a variety of great cooking goods out there that you should take along with you. Go with items that you can use in several different ways. Consider a nice pot that can also be used as a Dutch oven. A frying pan and small pot will be a good idea as well. Sometimes you can find a nice camping set that will all go together to make up a package. You’ll also need to have silverware, eating utensils, napkins and some cups as well.
Basic Camping Goods
Some other things that you want to purchase will be toiletries, bug spray and sunscreen. You should make sure that you have flashlights, a weather radio and plenty of batteries. There are plenty of camping goods to choose from so you may want to look for a one stop shopping place that will allow you to get all your goods for camping all in one place.
