On a day that I was particularly annoyed about the cost of having to go to the gym, I started working out how much I had spent. It turned out that if I had just used the money I spent on buying my own home fitness equipment, I would have had a treadmill, exercise bike and an indoor rower at this point!
Plus, when I went to the gym, I would tend to just stick to 2 or 3 machines. I liked using the rowing machines the most of all and sometimes that would be the only exercise equipment that I went on so it would be far better just to buy the machine and cancel my gym membership.
So I logged into my computer to check out some rowing machines online. There were hundreds of different makes and models but after reading some reviews it seemed that the Concept 2 looked very promising.
I remember being really excited about getting my new Concept 2 rowing machine. So excited in fact that I just went directly to Amazon and got myself a brand new model at no discount.
It took under a week to come and as soon as I had tried it out, I knew that I had made the right decision. I promptly cancelled going to the gym and would now use my rower for my exercise needs.
That’s when a friend of mine decided that he too would like a Concept rower for his house too. He had been using my one every so often and loved it so much that it drove him to get his own. So a week later he had bought and paid for one that was exactly the same as mine in every way (it was even the same age), except it was second hand so he only paid 1/5 of what I did!
From that day on, I have always started looking at buying used stuff. And now that I’m looking for a quality treadmill to add to my home gym, I’ll be searching around and looking for a bargain!
