Simple Exercises
Usually when someone hears the word “workout” they figure it should involve some sort of apparatus or equipment such as a stair-climber, or treadmill. Simply going outside and walking around the block a time or two can give you the exact same results.
Get Your Hear Pumping
Take your pulse for 10 seconds, then times that number by six and you now have your pulse rate. A healthy person will have a pulse of anywhere between 50 – 70 beats per minute. This number is drastically lower for professional athletes, but nonetheless, the goal of a regular aerobics workout is to gradually lower your pulse into the healthy range — making your heart work less when it’s at rest.
While walking is a great exercise that anyone can do, without any equipment: Joining a gym, or setting aside a space in your home for a devoted aerobics workout can be very inspiring. Having a place that is devoted to exercise, whether at the gym or your home gives you a place to escape to, where nothing else matters.
Just Getting Started?
It’s a simple as our friends at Nike like to say: Just Do It. Getting started is often where people fail, so get started — join that gym, buy the treadmill, walk your dog for a half hour per day, etc. Cardiovascular exercise will add years on to your life. How many years? That all depends when you start.
