How Do I Get Six-pack Abs?

I've been going to the gym regularly. I do ab work. I do cardio. I think I'm in getting to relatively good shape. I'm just starting to feel that maybe my body type isn't right to get really good abs. I'm seeing improvement in my arms and chest, but nothing in my abs. I was never "fat", but I started working out to lose belly fat. To get visible abs, do you have to one of those who starts out skinny and works out to build bulk?

Suggestion:

jogging is an excellent exercise because it let you lose weight
evenly throughout your whole body. If you want to lose weight in
specific areas, you should target them with exercises. If they are
your problem areas, they will be very difficult to tone. You will have
to work double on them. The best approach is this:
1. Lower/control your daily calorie intake (control for normal
weight, lower for overweight).
2. Run/jog to lower your overall body fat percentage.
3. Target your problem areas with exercises.
an excellent exercise, you can do it in front of your TV: sit on a
stool, and put your toes under something (piece of heavy furniture,
for example). In your hands hold a little dumbbell. Please, make sure
that it is not very heavy, start with one kilo, for example, or you
will damage your back and spine! Slowly move the upper part of your
body back, until it's parallel with the ground. Stop for a second and
move it back to the sitting position. Repeat ten times. Every week add
to the number of repetitions. You will see the results in a week,
guaranteed! You will see or feel under the fat – if you have any – six
pack and muscles. Dumbbells do wonders. Much better than these
crunches – I came up to three hundreds and there was no results AT
ALL. With the dumbbells you will see it in a week.

why 6? how bout *?

Six pack abs start in the kitchen and not in the gym.

Your diet will be the determining factor in whether you have a six pack. You could spend all day doing ab exercises but if your diet isn't right then you are wasting your time.

As a general rule if it didnt perviously run, swim or grow then dont eat it. Cut out refined sugar, processed food and drink lots of water.

Also a more balanced full body workout would be better than spending most of your time doing ab isolation exercises. Your abs are worked very hard during squats, deadlifts and overhead pressing and incorporating these will give a perfectly balanced body.
