Read About 3 Different Vertical Jumping Exercise Forms

Many people are unsure of how they should train or what they should use to train certain aspects of their vertical jump.

Plyometrics, general jumping, and weight training are the best vertical jump training methods. Knowing the benefits of each is key to improving your vertical.

Knowledge is key and if you want to increase your vertical, then you need to learn as much as possible about each form.

Plyometrics are dynamic vertical jumping exercises that are designed to work your muscles unlike any other vertical jump training method is able. Plyometrics exercises are surprisingly simple, yet effective. They require more repetition than amount of weight. Plyometrics are great for improving your reaction speed and how quickly your muscles can start into action. Plyometric training also improves how many muscle fibers you use to jump.

With a name like general jump exercise you would think that the exercises are more common than the others and everyone does them. The truth is that they are not any more common than the other workout forms. General jump exercises involve an average amount of weight combined with an average amount of repetitions. Jumping and landing in a squat position can be an example of a general jump exercise.

Do you struggle trying to improve your vertical when lifting weights? That is probably because you are not training the right way. It is important to lift a lot with only a little repetition when lifting weights. Squats are a popular and efficient weight training method. Make sure to do plyometric and general jump training equally with weight training because it can slow down your muscles. Even if weight training makes you jump a lot higher, it will slow down your muscles if it is the only type of training you do. Design a workout for you to improve every part of your vertical as much as you can.

It is important to understand what each type of workout will and will not do for you. You can then use this knowledge to design your own exercise program. If you have one without the other, then your workout will go to waste when you are on the basketball court.

Do no just train vertical jump height, because you will never be able to jump quickly. Being able to jump quickly is just as important as being able to jump high. But also, do not train your vertical just so you can jump quickly, or else you will not be able to jump high enough to do anything.
